While many people may not travel with dogs to St. John, many people who live here are freaky fond of their furry friends. While hundreds of feral felines roam the island and call St. John home, it is the dogs who reign supreme when it comes to island publicity. Not only are leashed dogs allowed on Virgin Islands National Park trails, they are also celebrated every year at the annual island dog show: Wagapalooza. Waga this year falls on Saturday May 9th, bark your calendars! Island pups compete in categories like best costume, biggest lap dog, greatest old-timer, best look-alike, and more. The event starts at 5:00pm and continues into the evening with music, food and entertainment. The night ends with the ceremonious crowning of Waga King and Queen.
