One of the hazards of living on a beautiful tropical island is that you find yourself hard pressed to leave. Not just the island, but your home. I’ve yet to visit a home or villa on St. John that doesn’t have some kind of special charm. Many have incredible views – the kind of scene that makes your mouth literally fall open without you realizing it. The rental villas typically also have ample decks, hot tubs, and pools. The interiors are equally welcoming, whether it’s a small shack or a million dollar stone mansion. The wind chime hidden in the garden, the stone carved bench in the great room, or the small rock in the outside garden shower painted “love” – every detail intentionally designed with great thought.
St. John has no malls – no Macy’s, no Sears – all our home furnishings must be sourced elsewhere or custom built, which makes houses on St. John so unique. Not only do they physically look different, with outdoor living areas and separate room pods, they also reflect the true character of the person who made it a home.
