There are ferries that run from both Red Hook and Charlotte Amalie on St. Thomas Island. The ferries arrive in Cruz Bay on St. John, the more developed area of the small tropical island. Ferry rates are also subject to change, but to get to St. John expect to pay $6 one-way trip from Red Hook, or $12 one-way from Charlotte Amalie.
Bag fees are additional. When loading the ferry, bag handlers will stack your luggage in the back of the vessel with the others. When you disembark the ferry on St. John, they remove the bags and place them on the dock for you to pick-up.
